POLICE

Airport Security, protection and surveillance is permanent and guaranteed 24 hours a day by PSP.

As part of the restructuring of the SEF, which was postponed until the creation of the Portuguese Agency for Migration and Asylum (APMA), the police powers of the Foreigners and boundary services are the responsibility of the PSP, GNR and PJ. All passengers/crew members of flights coming from countries that are not part of the Schengen agreement are screened in the various databases and information systems of Schengen, Interpol and precautionary measures.

Maintaining efficiency and security in border control is the mission of this screening and working as a team with the Airport Operations Department, they coordinate and manage the arrivals/departures of non-Schengen flights.

All flights must be notified 48 hours in advance for further coordination.
